The primary purpose of the foundation is to engage in educational and charitable activities that directly benefit youths in our community, through services and programs which support the attainment of higher education, accelerate At our foundation, we firmly recognize a critical gap within our community that demands attention and action. While there are numerous ways to contribute, such as volunteering or mentoring, we’ve chosen to innovate by creating a solution we believe addresses this gap. Despite the challenges and discomfort this endeavor may bring, we remain steadfast in our commitment to preparing the youth of our community for success.
Our primary focus lies in awarding scholarships and providing essential school supplies to deserving recipients. Specifically, we target graduating students from Central High School in Jamaica, as well as students attending two esteemed HBCUs, Morehouse College and Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. This targeted approach ensures our resources have a meaningful impact on the educational journey of these individuals
Our commitment to providing financial assistance for education to impoverished and disadvantaged students aims to profoundly impact not only their individual lives but also those of their families and communities. We aspire to cultivate critical thinkers and problem solvers committed to lifelong learning. Through our contributions, we seek to empower students to utilize their educational skills to uplift and inspire the next generation of leaders.
We humbly request your support as we expand our circle of family and friends committed to addressing a pressing need within our community. Many of you have expressed a desire to contribute but have yet to find the right avenue to do so. Before awarding scholarships, we conduct thorough interviews with candidates. To qualify, students must demonstrate exceptional scholastic ability while lacking the financial means to pursue tertiary education. Our vetting process includes assessing the family’s financial need and confirming the student’s acceptance at their chosen educational institution. Our internal guidelines dictate that we provide support solely for tuition and housing payments, with occasional provision for school supplies on a limited basis. All awards are granted as four-year scholarships, and recipients’ transcripts are reviewed annually to ensure continued eligibility. Compliance with the rules and guidelines set by the educational institutions is imperative to maintain good standing.
We are truly fortunate to benefit from a wealth of knowledge that we can rely upon. Our Advisory Board plays a pivotal role in providing advice and support for the initiatives of the Board of Directors. They dedicate a significant portion of their efforts to fundraising, as well as to cultivating strategic corporate and community relationships.
